You're very intuitive! Can you read people's minds?

Regarding strong spiritual sensitivity—being able to read people’s minds—from a spiritual perspective, there is a discussion about having strong spiritual senses and the ability to perceive the hearts of others.

However, this varies from person to person.

First, it is necessary to understand a common misconception about spiritual sensitivity.

Many people tend to think of spiritual sensitivity as something you either have or don’t have, but that itself is a mistaken notion.

Spiritualist Hiroyuki Ehara has said that everyone possesses spiritual sensitivity; it is only a matter of differing levels of sensitivity.

However, because many people do not actually understand what spiritual sensitivity is, even among those who do have it, some believe that they themselves do not possess it.

Spiritual sensitivity is the ability to sense that ghosts have hearts, higher-dimensional beings have hearts, and people have hearts—to feel the essence of a heart.

Furthermore, there is a perspective that all human hearts are fundamentally connected, and beyond that, they are linked to the spiritual world—the world of the heart.

You're very intuitive! Can you read people's minds?

Spiritual sensitivity can be understood, for example, when shaking hands with someone—you may sense a unique personal aura. This is a small manifestation of the ability to feel the heart, a form of spiritual sensitivity.

In other words, because the depths of all hearts are fundamentally connected, people with strong spiritual sensitivity have a strong ability to sense the hearts of others.

From this ability, the capacity to “read” people’s minds can emerge more easily.

When discussing this, some people might say, “Then try to guess what I’m thinking.”

Some individuals do possess the ability to interpret such thoughts, but this is a kind of test. When one is focused on their own mind, there are times when they cannot read the other person’s heart.

When one’s mind is calm and focused purely on understanding the other person’s feelings, strong spiritual sensitivity makes the ability to read hearts more likely to appear.

Moreover, the accuracy of such perception varies among people. Some may only sense simple emotions, such as anger or deceit, while others may perceive specifically why those emotions arise.

Even those with strong spiritual sensitivity may be unable to read the hearts of people whose spiritual development (reikai level) is higher than their own.

Regarding the growth of the soul, as repeatedly discussed in this blog: just as the growth of knowledge consists of individual realizations, the growth of the heart—spiritual development—also consists of individual insights from the heart.

As spiritual development increases, one’s presence and influence grow, the ability to fulfill the hearts of others expands, and with more awareness, one’s perspective on the world broadens. This is not a difficult concept—it is what it means to be spiritually mature.

Low spiritual development means weaker presence, a tendency to prioritize fulfilling one’s own heart over that of others, and a narrower perspective due to fewer insights. This too is not complicated—it simply reflects spiritual immaturity.

A characteristic of spiritual development is that those with lower development have difficulty perceiving the hearts of those with higher development. Conversely, people with high spiritual development often perceive those with lower development as spiritually immature.

In other words, even if one has strong spiritual sensitivity, there are times when they cannot read the hearts of those whose spiritual development surpasses their own.

However, this does not mean that nothing is felt. People with high spiritual development often project charisma and a strong presence, which can be sensed as an aura of authority.

In Japan, education tends to value only knowledge-based awareness. Socially, high paper test scores are often equated with personal value, which can weaken the development of spiritual sensitivity.

As a result, people may have weaker abilities to sense the heart, and many are not able to read the hearts of others.

This makes strong spiritual sensitivity appear as something special, and the ability to read hearts is often mistakenly regarded as a unique or extraordinary skill—but in truth, it is not something inherently exceptional.
