The possibility of war expanding—from a spiritual perspective—can be considered as a future potential.

By the way, are you familiar with the term “Gaia’s Law”?

In spiritual discourse, this idea comes from Mr. Chiga’s account of visiting the Sumerian ruins. There, while in a trance state, he reportedly encountered a Sumerian priest who conveyed to him a principle regarding the development of civilizations.

According to this law, beginning with Sumer, material civilizations tend to rise and fall toward the West, while spiritual civilizations tend to rise and fall toward the East.

From the moment a civilization is born, the timing of its eventual decline is already woven into its destiny. History suggests that civilizations often arise in alternating, distant regions, as if taking turns across the globe. Some perspectives point to the next great civilization emerging around Awaji Island in Japan.

In the mythology of Shinto, Awaji Island holds a sacred origin: it was the very first island created by the primordial deities Izanagi and Izanami, the divine couple who gave shape to the Japanese archipelago. Shinto itself is rooted in the belief that spirits dwell within nature—trees, rivers, stones, and mountains. This worldview, centered on harmony with the natural world, may form the foundation of a new kind of civilization.

In contrast, the civilization that currently dominates the world is centered in America and shaped largely by Anglo-Saxon values—prioritizing material wealth, technological advancement, and economic expansion. This value system has been embraced not only in the United States but also across Europe and Japan.

However, according to the “Gaia Principle,” such materialistic frameworks inevitably erode. When the emphasis on material wealth becomes unsustainable, it often collapses under the pressure of conflict and war, opening the way for a new paradigm. The next era may not be defined by accumulation and consumption, but by reverence for nature and a recognition that spirit exists within all things.

The possibility of war expanding, “feminine energy,” and “spirituality”

The possibility of war expanding, “feminine energy,” and “spirituality”

From a spiritual perspective, the possibility of expanding wars is closely tied to a profound shift in the planet’s energy. Humanity is moving from an era dominated by “masculine energy” toward one increasingly guided by “feminine energy.”

This is not a sudden switch, like turning light to dark. Rather, it resembles the steady rhythm of the sun and the moon—an ongoing transformation that affects all people, regardless of gender, and the Earth as a whole.

At this stage, the feminine energy is still in its opening chapter. Like the emotional world of a young girl, it carries within it a wide range of opposing forces—joy and sorrow, anger and compassion. When expressed in society, these energies often manifest as polarization, contradictions, sudden reversals, and wave-like fluctuations.

Masculine energy tends to suppress and control emotions, leading to rigidity in both body and mind. Feminine energy, by contrast, tends to release and express emotions outward, resulting in greater softness and adaptability. Because softness allows for easier transformation, this marks the beginning of an era of rapid change.

As masculine energy weakens, its restraining influence diminishes. What was once held together in a state of stability may now dissolve under the influence of feminine energy. In practice, this means that even the peace maintained by restraint is fragile, and the risk of conflict rises.

Thus, the escalation of war may not remain confined to Ukraine. Similar tensions could ignite in other parts of the world, as the shifting balance of energies continues to reshape human civilization.

The possibility of war expanding, spiritual growth, and spirituality

The possibility of expanding wars is not only a geopolitical issue—it also carries a deeper, spiritual meaning. From a spiritual perspective, war reflects the hidden process of “soul growth.”

I have often written that the growth of knowledge happens through small, individual awakenings. In the same way, the growth of the soul—what might be called the elevation of spiritual character—also occurs through these awakenings of the heart. When one’s spiritual maturity rises, one gains a stronger presence, a greater creative power to enrich others, and a wider vision through which to understand the world. In simple terms, this is what it means to become an “adult” in a spiritual sense.

By contrast, when spiritual maturity is low, one’s presence is weak. The focus shifts toward self-satisfaction rather than fulfilling others, and the lack of awakenings narrows the ability to see the bigger picture. This, too, is not difficult to grasp: it is simply the state of being a “child” in spiritual terms.

The rise of “feminine energy” in our era plays a key role in guiding this growth of the soul. It exposes the heart—sometimes in its most raw form. War, unfortunately, can bring out these darker sides of humanity, revealing the unhealed wounds of the collective psyche.

The Japanese spiritual teacher Hiroyuki Ehara once said that the COVID-19 pandemic had a hidden purpose: to expose human hearts in preparation for a new era. He also warned that the old value systems may be leveled to the ground, and in this light, war itself may act as another force of leveling.

Humanity, after all, cannot claim to have lived peacefully even in times without war. We have cut down forests, fueled climate change, and caused suffering not only for ourselves but also for countless other living beings on Earth.

Interestingly, as spiritual maturity deepens, people often outgrow their previous attachments and desires. They begin to “graduate” from interests that once seemed important, stepping into adulthood of the soul. In the future, war itself may strip away many of humanity’s old attachments, redirecting our energy toward protecting the natural world.
