Is the Gaia Theory at Work?
From a spiritual perspective, the current state of society may, in fact, be connected to the workings of the Gaia Theory.

The Gaia Theory is the hypothesis that views the Earth as a single, vast living organism, in which life forms interact with the planet and together create a self-regulating system that maintains an environment suitable for their continued existence.

However, when applied strictly as a scientific theory, it faces criticism. For instance, if this theory were universally true, it cannot adequately explain why countless species of plants and animals have been driven to extinction throughout history.

Yet, from a spiritual perspective, one can observe certain distinctive patterns and tendencies within the current global situation that appear to reflect the workings of this Gaia-like principle.

The Gaia Theory at work! Spiritual

For example, when we look at the global spread of the coronavirus, the occurrence of earthquakes, volcanic activity, and floods, as well as President Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, we can notice a common pattern.

That pattern is the presence of a kind of restraining force that seems to limit or curb the ever-expanding activities of humankind.

In the case of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by President Putin, for Japan it may seem like a distant event, but for Europe it is a matter that feels extremely close and immediate.

Under such circumstances, can people genuinely feel the desire to travel for pleasure? Would Japanese people, for instance, still feel motivated to visit Europe as tourists?

Of course, some individuals might continue to travel regardless, but for most people with ordinary sensibilities, there is a natural tendency to hold back on travel plans in times like these.

The workings of the Gaia theory, “feminine superior energy,” and “spirituality”

The workings of the Gaia theory, “feminine superior energy,” and “spirituality”

Could this be the work of the “Gaia theory,” or perhaps the influence of feminine-dominant energy? From a spiritual perspective, this idea invites us to reflect more deeply.

In spirituality, it is said that the overall energetic quality of the Earth is gradually shifting from masculine-dominant energy to feminine-dominant energy.

This is not a sudden shift like flipping a black-and-white switch. Rather, it is a gradual transition, much like the relationship between the sun and the moon, and it influences the entire planet regardless of gender.

The feminine-dominant energy is still in its opening stages. Much like the emotional nature of a young girl, it easily gives rise to contradictory emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure. As a result, society begins to manifest patterns of polarization, contradiction, inconsistency, and waves of sudden change.

Masculine energy tends to “restrain and control” emotions, which can make both mind and body rigid. In contrast, feminine energy tends to “release and express” emotions outwardly, making the mind and body more flexible.

Because flexibility allows for easier transformation than rigidity, this marks the beginning of an era defined by rapid change, guided by feminine-dominant energy.

Masculine-dominant energy often values the visible, material world, whereas feminine-dominant energy tends to value the invisible, inner world of the heart.

In other words, as masculine-dominant energy weakens, the value system that prioritizes material things will increasingly begin to collapse.

Indeed, under the influence of COVID-19, we witnessed how the material values that people once enjoyed through visible experiences also began to crumble economically.

The workings of the Gaia theory, people who are eliminated, “spirituality”

The workings of the Gaia theory, people who are eliminated, “spirituality”

From the workings of the Gaia theory, there arises the possibility—though not an absolute certainty—that certain people may be subject to “elimination” when viewed from a spiritual perspective.

As I have often discussed in this blog, the growth of the soul mirrors the growth of knowledge. Just as intellectual growth is built upon each individual “realization,” spiritual growth—or the growth of one’s spiritual rank (reikaku)—is also nurtured through the heart’s many “realizations.”

When one’s spiritual rank is elevated, their presence strengthens in a spiritual sense. Their creative power to bring fulfillment to others’ hearts also grows, and the more realizations they accumulate, the broader their perspective becomes. This is not a difficult concept—it is simply the process of becoming an adult in a spiritual sense.

By contrast, a low spiritual rank signifies weak presence in a spiritual sense. Such individuals tend to prioritize satisfying their own hearts over fulfilling others, and with fewer realizations, their perspective remains narrow. Again, this is not difficult to understand—it is essentially being a child in a spiritual sense.

When someone has a low spiritual rank, their spiritual presence is weak, making them prone to stress. Their desire for recognition and validation can easily manifest as harmful behaviors in society—such as slander, child abuse, bullying, power harassment, “monster” parents or customers, toxic parenting, stalking, or even heinous crimes.

If the number of such low-ranked individuals increases, in an extreme sense, the natural world of Earth itself could be driven toward collapse.

Therefore, if the Gaia theory truly functions as suggested, those most likely to be “eliminated” are the individuals of low spiritual rank whose presence creates harm to Earth and society.
