A Spiritual Perspective on Water-Related Accidents and Natural Disasters

From a spiritual viewpoint, it is important to remain cautious not only of water-related accidents but also of natural disasters in general. While this message is relevant every year, particular attention is often advised regarding water-related incidents.

In Eastern philosophy, all events are understood to arise from the dynamic interplay of Yin and Yang. This principle is not about a literal “thing” called Yin or Yang, but rather a symbolic representation of opposing forces—such as male and female, sun and rain, heaven and earth, or prosperity and decline.

Based on this framework, the traditional Chinese calendar combines the twelve zodiac animals with the ten heavenly stems to create sixty distinct energetic qualities. The concept of “Kanreki” (the 60th-year cycle) originates from this system.

For example, one specific energetic combination—known as Ren Yin—is characterized by a Yang-water quality. In years influenced by this energy, caution regarding water-related risks may be emphasized.

The underlying idea is that natural disasters, including water accidents, are not random but occur in patterns that can be interpreted through the cycles of energy described in Eastern spiritual philosophy. Awareness of these patterns can encourage preparedness and a mindful approach to safety.

A Spiritual Perspective on Water-Related Disasters and the Shift of Global Energy

Many people, when they see the character Tora (寅), may immediately think of the tiger. However, this kanji originates from a pictogram depicting a bow being drawn proudly, symbolizing a strong, dynamic energy. In the context of Yin-Yang philosophy, the Yang-water energy of Tora can manifest as powerful, wave-like forces.

As you might imagine, energies resembling a massive tsunami may manifest more strongly in the world. While these energies can sometimes express as light or positive forces, they are not limited to water alone. For example, the invasion of Ukraine by President Putin can be perceived by the Ukrainian people as a tsunami-like force impacting their lives.

Already, there have been serious incidents, such as the sightseeing boat disaster in Hokkaido, which have captured widespread attention. Additionally, global warming increases atmospheric moisture, potentially intensifying sudden downpours or localized flooding compared to previous years. Although precise comparative data may not be available, multiple water-related accidents have occurred in a short period.

Spiritually, it is said that the global energy of the Earth is gradually shifting from a masculine-dominant energy to a feminine-dominant energy. This change does not occur like an on-off switch but gradually, like the relationship between the sun and the moon, affecting everyone regardless of gender.

The rise of feminine energy is still in its early stages. The mental energy of young women can easily express opposing forces—joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure—which may manifest socially as polarization, contradictions, rapid policy changes, or wave-like patterns. Men tend to control and restrain their mental energy, resulting in physical and mental rigidity, whereas women are more likely to release and direct their energy outward, resulting in flexibility of mind and body.

Change occurs more readily in flexible systems than in rigid ones. Thus, we are entering an era of rapid transformation driven by feminine-dominant energy. This same flexible energy may also manifest as natural disasters, such as water-related accidents or landslides.

Personally, having spiritual knowledge allows me to maintain a degree of preparedness. However, many people are less aware of spiritual dynamics and may experience difficulty or suffering when sudden water-related disasters occur. From a spiritual perspective, such painful events are often opportunities for awareness and learning, suggesting that these challenges may be a necessary part of the world’s energetic evolution.
