A Time When “War” Arises! From a spiritual perspective, I would like to share some insights. Currently, Russian President Putin is invading Ukraine, but this event is not meant to define the meaning of an era in which “war” occurs.

Personally, even before this war began, I had been discussing how, since the start of the Reiwa era, conditions have made it easier for wars to arise.

This is not a matter of prophetic ability, but from a spiritual perspective, it is a concept that can be reasonably considered.

First, let us look at this from the perspective of Eastern philosophy and the concept of “yin and yang.” In yin and yang, all events in the world are thought to be formed from just two complementary energies, yin and yang.

Yin and Yang” does not refer to something that literally exists as “Yin and Yang.” For example, the characters symbolize opposing pairs such as male and female, sunny and rainy, heaven and earth, life and death.

What is called “Yin and Yang” means that all events are formed solely from the combination of Yin and Yang energies, and all events can be understood in this framework.

In ancient Eastern thought, which was written vertically, Yin energy was considered heavy and descending, while Yang energy was light and ascending. The mixing of these energies was thought to create the world.

When Yin and Yang are separated, opposing forces, collapse, and breakdown are more likely to occur.

The character 令 (Rei) in Reiwa comes from a pictograph of a person kneeling and listening to the words of the gods, and it carries a stronger Yang connotation. 和 (Wa), meaning harmony or peace, can be interpreted as Yin in the sense of stability and restraint.

In other words, Reiwa represents a Yin-Yang combination in which collapse, breakdown, and “war” can more easily arise.

In an era of war, “feminine energy” and “spirituality”

In an era in which “war” becomes more likely, the influence of “female-dominant energy,” as seen from a “spiritual” perspective, can also be a force that increases the likelihood of conflict.

From a spiritual viewpoint, the overall energy of the Earth is gradually shifting from “male-dominant energy” to “female-dominant energy.”

This change is not like a black-and-white switch that flips abruptly; it is a gradual process, similar to the relationship between the sun and the moon, and it influences the entire planet regardless of gender.

The “female-dominant energy” is still in its early stages. The mental energy of young women, with opposing emotions such as joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure, emerges more easily, and this can manifest in society as polarization, contradictions, rapid policy changes, or wave-like fluctuations.

Men tend to “restrain and control” their mental energy, making their mind and body more rigid, whereas women tend to “release and control” their mental energy outwardly, making their mind and body more flexible.

Change occurs more easily in flexibility than rigidity, and the era marks the beginning of a “time of rapid change” due to female-dominant energy.

In other words, the restraining force of male-dominant energy weakens, and the outward-releasing force of female-dominant energy makes conflict and clashing—war—more likely to appear.

When one hears “war,” it is often assumed to mean physical war, but disputes on social media, such as arguments over vaccination, are also manifestations of this dynamic.

In an era where “war” becomes more likely, one can also understand this from the perspective of heart growth and spirituality.

From a spiritual standpoint, when people’s hearts become unsettled, war may arise as a way to correct or address that imbalance.

“Spiritual growth of the soul”—as discussed many times on this blog—can be understood similarly to the growth of knowledge: each piece of knowledge is a “realization,” and heart growth, or the “growth of spiritual rank,” is also made up of individual realizations of the heart.

When one’s spiritual rank is high, their existential power increases in a mental sense, their creative ability to fulfill others’ hearts expands, and the greater the number of realizations of the heart, the broader their perspective becomes. This is not a complicated concept—it is about becoming spiritually mature.

Conversely, a low spiritual rank means weaker existential power in a mental sense, a tendency to prioritize fulfilling one’s own heart over others’, and a narrower perspective due to fewer realizations of the heart. This, too, is not complicated—it reflects spiritual immaturity.

When many people with low spiritual rank appear, selfishness becomes widespread, potentially leading to the collapse of the natural order on Earth.

Those who instigate war are essentially people with low spiritual rank. Combined with the influence of “female-dominant energy,” from a spiritual perspective, the present time may be considered a period in which war is more likely to occur.
