How War Shapes History: A Spiritual Perspective
When we hear the word spiritual, we often associate it with peace and serenity. But from a true spiritual perspective, it is not always gentle or comforting—spirituality also has a rigorous, sometimes harsh side.
Since humans first built civilizations, war has been a constant companion. True, lasting peace is rare. Yet war has played a crucial role in breaking down old values and making way for new ones. In this sense, war and spirituality are deeply intertwined.
Japanese history provides a clear example. The warring Sengoku period eventually gave way to the stable Edo era. Later, the Meiji Restoration brought rapid modernization, followed by the Pacific War, and eventually the relatively peaceful Showa period. Each conflict disrupted previous norms and reshaped society, illustrating how turmoil often precedes new spiritual and cultural growth.
War as a Catalyst for Change: A Spiritual Perspective
We are entering an era of rapid change, where war is likely to play a role in shaping the times. A key factor in this dynamic is China. Currently maintaining friendly ties with Russia, China’s stance could shift more clearly toward Russia depending on future developments.
Of course, human life is precious and must never be taken lightly. Yet from a spiritual perspective, life does not truly vanish; there are even higher values that transcend individual existence.
Throughout history, civilizations—except in rare cases—have developed through human effort. War, in this context, can be seen as a force that disrupts the old and fosters spiritual and societal growth. From a spiritual viewpoint, such turmoil serves the purpose of maturing the minds and souls of those shaping civilization.
“War” changes the times, “feminine energy,” and “spirituality”
How “Feminine Energy” Is Shaping a New Era: A Spiritual Perspective
From a spiritual perspective, the overall energy of the Earth is gradually shifting from masculine-dominant energy to feminine-dominant energy. This transition is not abrupt like a light switch but gradual, like the interplay between the sun and the moon, influencing everyone regardless of gender.
Feminine-dominant energy is still in its early stages. Young women’s emotional energy tends to display opposing forces—joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure—manifesting socially as polarization, contradictions, sudden policy changes, or waves of instability.
Men tend to restrain and control their inner energy, which can make both mind and body rigid. Women, on the other hand, tend to release and direct their inner energy outward, resulting in greater flexibility of mind and body.
Change occurs more easily in flexibility than rigidity. The rise of feminine-dominant energy marks the beginning of an era of rapid change. Its outward, flowing power naturally creates cracks in the rigid order established by masculine-dominant control, setting the stage for societal transformation.

How War Shapes an Era: A Spiritual Perspective on Soul Growth
From a spiritual perspective, war can be seen as a force that influences both history and the growth of the human soul. On this blog, I often discuss soul growth: just as intellectual growth happens through small moments of insight, spiritual growth—or raising one’s spiritual stature—also occurs through small awakenings of the heart.
When a person’s spiritual stature is high, their inner presence strengthens, their ability to uplift others grows, and their perspective broadens with each insight. In simple terms, this is what it means to become spiritually “adult.”
Conversely, low spiritual stature indicates a weaker inner presence. People may prioritize satisfying their own desires over uplifting others. With fewer awakenings of the heart, their worldview narrows, and stress becomes more pronounced. Such individuals may manifest socially harmful behaviors: bullying, abuse, harassment, toxic parenting, stalking, and even violent crime.
When many people of low spiritual stature dominate, the consequences can extend beyond human society. From a spiritual viewpoint, the natural world itself could be threatened. In this sense, war and conflict can serve a deeper purpose: they force population shifts and create opportunities for spiritual growth. Each event can act as a prompt, encouraging individuals to recognize insights in their own hearts and mature spiritually.
