People who believe in spirituality! Why? Believe
Why do some people believe in spirituality? From a spiritual perspective, there are reasons why people believe.
Humans are naturally born with a desire to know things they do not yet understand. This desire does not disappear simply because one has finished their school years.
In addition, Japanese education tends to place value almost exclusively on individual pieces of knowledge, often imparted in a nearly compulsory way.
This is somewhat like producing robots, but humans possess hearts and emotions. Therefore, it is natural that some people become more interested in the matters of the heart.
Spiritual values vary from person to person, and the specific content that people believe in spiritually also differs. This should be understood as a premise for this discussion.
While it cannot be said for everyone, spirituality often holds a value that emphasizes the growth of the soul. However, it cannot be said that everyone is highly conscious of this value.
The growth of the soul, like the growth of knowledge, comes from each individual realization, and similarly, the growth of spiritual character (reikaku), which is the growth of the heart, comes from each realization of the heart.
When spiritual character is high, one’s existential presence increases in a mental sense, the creative power to fulfill the hearts of others rises, and the more realizations one has, the broader one’s mental perspective becomes. This is not a difficult concept—it is simply a sign of being spiritually mature.
Low spiritual character means weaker existential presence in a mental sense, a tendency to prioritize fulfilling one’s own heart over the hearts of others, and a narrower perspective due to fewer realizations of the heart. Again, this is not a difficult concept—it is simply a sign of being spiritually immature.
It is natural that raising children requires spiritual maturity. Therefore, it is understandable that people who value becoming spiritually mature may be drawn to spirituality and come to believe in it.
Animals, even without being formally educated in individual pieces of knowledge, can become spiritually mature and possess the ability to raise their offspring and pass on their genes.
This means that living beings inherently possess the ability to realize insights from the heart and the capacity to become spiritually mature.
From this perspective, humans may be the creatures with the lowest spiritual character.
When spiritual character rises, existential presence increases in a mental sense, charisma appears, and one’s power manifests as a high level of existential presence.
Some people who believe in spirituality feel that it enhances their own sense of presence, which in turn reinforces their belief in spirituality.
In general, in Western countries, spiritual values are widely accepted and contribute to various fields.
In Japan, awareness of the heart tends to be weaker, spiritual character tends to be lower, and perspective tends to be narrower. While this is understandable, it does not mean that spirituality is globally rejected, as it is not in other parts of the world.
Trends often rise and fall quickly, but spiritual perspectives are naturally necessary in the world, and the number of people believing in spirituality may continue to grow.
In a world of low spiritual character, existential presence is weak, stress appears easily, and people tend to be passive. Such individuals are increasingly visible today.
It is said that the number of “people who wait for instructions” is increasing. This is likely a result of weak awareness from the heart’s realizations.
When spiritual character is low, a narrow perspective makes this situation inevitable. Unless social awareness arises, Japan may face a high risk of decline.
Low spiritual character can also bring various negative effects, and unless people awaken in response to these issues, educational reform in Japan may remain difficult to achieve.
