How to understand spirituality? Considerations

 How to understand spirituality? Considerations

To understand “spirituality,” let me share some reflections. For people living ordinary lives, it is natural that many have little interest in or understanding of spirituality.

When I was younger, I initially felt skeptical about psychology. The reason was that humans have free will, and I was distrustful of attempts to define or determine the mind through any system or framework.

However, one day I came across a book in a bookstore—an introductory text on psychology—and I flipped through it. There, I came across the term “collective unconscious,” proposed by the depth psychologist Carl Jung. Among various coincidences I had experienced, this concept was the one I could understand.

This is also the case.

Nowadays, even content aimed at elementary school students can be understood easily, so it’s not necessarily the case that one can understand everything written in a book.

Similarly, with “spirituality,” for someone encountering it for the first time, they may not understand what is being said or whether it even relates to themselves. Naturally, there will be such people.

Since the level of people’s souls differs, whether someone can understand spirituality is something I cannot say for certain. However, I will try to explain it in simple terms, using my own words.

To understand “spirituality,” you need “awareness.”

To understand “spirituality,” you need “awareness.”

To understand “spirituality,” the awareness of “insights” is essential.

The concept of “soul growth,” which I have discussed many times on this blog, holds that the growth of knowledge comes from each individual “insight,” and likewise, the growth of the heart, or “spiritual development,” comes from each single “insight” arising from the heart.

When one’s “spiritual level” rises, their existential strength in a mental sense increases, their creative power to fulfill the hearts of others grows, and the more “insights” one has, the broader their perspective becomes. This is not a complicated concept; it simply means becoming “mentally mature.”

Having a “low spiritual level” means that one’s existential strength is weak in a mental sense, and there is a tendency to prioritize satisfying one’s own heart over fulfilling the hearts of others. With fewer “insights,” one’s perspective on things becomes narrower. This is also not a complicated concept; it is simply being “mentally immature.”

Those with a low spiritual level, being weaker in a mental sense, are more prone to stress, and the energy seeking their own sense of presence can manifest as slander, child abuse, bullying, workplace harassment, “monster” behaviors, toxic parenting, stalking, or violent crimes, thereby negatively affecting society.

If a large number of people with low spiritual levels appear, extremely speaking, even the natural world on this Earth could potentially collapse.

It goes without saying that in order to raise children, one must become “mentally mature.”

Because those with a low spiritual level have a narrow perspective, this is somewhat unavoidable. However, some may believe that simply becoming an adult physically automatically makes one mentally mature—but this is not necessarily the case.

To understand “spirituality,” it is necessary to talk about inevitability.

To understand “spirituality,” it is necessary to talk about inevitability.

Understanding “spirituality” inevitably involves dealing with things that are difficult to grasp.

In Japan, education tends to place value solely on each individual “insight” of knowledge, and parents often encourage their children to pursue the same.

Few people value the growth of the heart, so it is inevitable that the ability to understand “spirituality” is weak.

According to “spiritual” perspectives, the overall energy of the Earth is gradually shifting from “male-dominant energy” to “female-dominant energy.”

This is not a force that changes abruptly like a black-and-white switch; rather, it gradually changes like the relationship between the sun and the moon, influencing the entire Earth regardless of gender.

The “female-dominant energy” is still in its early stages. The youthful energy of women’s hearts makes opposite energies—such as joy, anger, sorrow, and pleasure—appear more easily, and these tendencies can manifest in society as polarization, contradictions, sudden reversals in decisions, and wave-like patterns.

Men tend to “restrain and control” their mental energy, making both mind and body harder, whereas women tend to “release and control” their mental energy outward, making mind and body softer.

Change occurs more easily in softness than in hardness, so the era has begun to be one of “rapid change” due to female-dominant energy.

“Male-dominant energy” tends to place value on tangible, visible things, while “female-dominant energy” tends to value the intangible, unseen aspects of the heart.

Until now, the era was dominated by male-dominant energy, which naturally emphasized tangible knowledge.

As more people begin to focus on the heart, the ability to understand “spirituality” may appear weak, but this too is an inevitable aspect of the present.

From a purely “spiritual” perspective, opportunities for human “insights” are always prepared, and when value is placed on these “insights,” they become more readily apparent in front of us.
