Becoming a Psychic: Spiritual Insights on Why Many Give Up

From a spiritual perspective, there are several reasons why aspiring psychics may struggle or abandon their path.

I myself once worked as a psychic, offering guidance to people based on spiritual insights. Yet, initially, I had no intention of pursuing a career as a psychic.

Many experienced spiritual practitioners encouraged me to use my abilities to help others. I initially refused completely. Shortly after, a fire broke out at my home—a dramatic event that seemed to guide me toward embracing the path I had been avoiding. Reluctantly, I began responding to people’s consultations as a psychic.

At first, I assumed that simply acquiring knowledge about divination would naturally attract clients. I thought it would be straightforward.

Back in high school, I had studied information technology and was fairly skilled with the internet. Using this knowledge, I started offering consultations online through a personal website, beginning my journey as a psychic.

Becoming a Psychic: Why Many Struggle and the Role of Spiritual Growth

At the time, search engine optimization (SEO) was much easier than today. By simply searching “[prefecture] + fortune-telling,” my website would appear near the top of search results. For example, pages like “Recommended Fortune-Telling for Those Looking in Osaka” would attract visitors.

Consultations did come in, but honestly, it wasn’t a sustainable source of income. If even I struggled in this way, many independent psychics likely have difficulty attracting clients.

Popular psychics often share a common pattern: they operate in settings with regular customer traffic, such as cafés or nightclubs, where word-of-mouth helps attract clients naturally.

Simply possessing knowledge about fortune-telling is not enough to become a successful psychic. There are countless people with theoretical knowledge alone.

Spiritual growth, as discussed multiple times on this blog, is similar to intellectual growth: every single insight adds to the development of one’s soul. Likewise, the growth of one’s spiritual character—or reikaku—comes from accumulated inner realizations.

A high reikaku strengthens one’s spiritual presence, enhancing the ability to fulfill others’ hearts and broadening the perspective through awareness. This is not a difficult concept—it simply reflects becoming a spiritually mature adult.

Conversely, a low reikaku means weaker spiritual presence, prioritizing one’s own satisfaction over helping others. Limited awareness leads to a narrower perspective—essentially, a spiritually childlike state.

Not everyone is the same, but some aspiring psychics focus solely on knowledge without cultivating inner awareness. They place value only on technical skills, neglecting the heart-centered growth essential to connecting with others.

Intuition, or spiritual sensitivity, exists in everyone. Ghosts, higher-dimensional beings, and people all have consciousness, and intuition is the ability to perceive these subtle hearts.

The deeper layers of human consciousness are interconnected, extending into the spiritual world. For instance, when shaking someone’s hand, you may sense a unique personal energy—this is a small exercise of intuition, a glimpse of the spiritual perception we all possess.

Those with higher reikaku can more easily attune to the vibrations of higher-dimensional beings, which manifests as accurate, insightful divination.

Most clients are not seeking casual fortune-telling—they seek meaningful spiritual insight that benefits their lives. If a psychic cannot provide this, the path becomes challenging, and many eventually give up.

However, possessing knowledge beyond fortune-telling—wisdom, empathy, and general insight—broadens a psychic’s ability to respond effectively. Those who focus solely on fortune-telling knowledge are more prone to frustration and setbacks.

Even if someone ultimately leaves the path of a psychic, the knowledge gained is not wasted. Learning about divination can still provide valuable life lessons and positive influence.
