A Possible Future of Hell: A Spiritual Perspective

From a spiritual viewpoint, there is a possibility that a form of “hellish” future may await humanity. People’s perceptions of hell vary, but many often associate it with natural disasters such as earthquakes or volcanic eruptions.

Current global events also shape this perception. For example, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine under President Putin creates a real-life scenario that could be considered “hellish” for those affected. Meanwhile, many in Japan, accustomed to peace, may be less aware of such dangers—highlighting how perspectives on hell can differ based on one’s environment.

Spiritually, it is said that the overall energy of the Earth is gradually shifting from a male-dominant energy toward a female-dominant energy. This transition is not sudden, like flipping a black-and-white switch, but gradual—similar to the subtle rhythms between the sun and the moon. This shift affects the planet as a whole, influencing all people regardless of gender.

The Emerging Female-Dominant Energy and the Possibility of a “Hellish” Future

The shift toward female-dominant energy on Earth is still in its early stages. Young women’s emotional energy often exhibits contrasting forces—joy and anger, sorrow and delight—which can manifest socially as polarization, contradictions, sudden changes, or wave-like fluctuations.

Men tend to internalize and control their emotional energy, which can make both mind and body rigid. Women, on the other hand, are more likely to express and release their emotional energy outwardly, resulting in a more flexible mind-body state. Change naturally occurs more easily in flexibility than rigidity, signaling the start of a period of rapid social and cultural transformation driven by female-dominant energy.

Male-dominant energy has historically valued tangible, visible things, while female-dominant energy prioritizes the invisible, inner world of the heart. As male-dominant values weaken, those still bound by them may perceive a “hellish” shift in their reality. For instance, beauty contests, once a symbol of male-dominated societal values, are increasingly being discontinued. Women who had placed importance on these events might experience this change as disorienting or even distressing.

Freud proposed the pleasure principle, stating that humans naturally seek pleasure in basic activities—eating, sleeping, or even bodily functions. In extreme terms, a sense of presence or existence can itself be considered a form of pleasure. Happiness brings both a strong sense of presence and intense pleasure.

When individuals cannot feel their own presence, it is not merely a lack of self-awareness. The mind and body interact deeply, and the inability to sense presence can generate stress, sometimes experienced as a threat to survival. Stress reactions place individuals in a state of either confrontation or avoidance, both of which require energy and, in turn, produce new energy in the mind and body.

As society continues to change, situations where people cannot feel their own presence may become more common, increasing the potential for a “hellish” experience. Recent tragic events, such as the suicide of a popular comedian, may reflect the intense loneliness and stress that can accompany these conditions.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, social gatherings and nightlife provided outlets for human connection. The pandemic has reduced such opportunities, potentially increasing social isolation and economic instability, particularly in the hospitality industry.

Spiritual teacher Hiroyuki Ehara has recently used the term “cracks” in his predictions—a symbolic sign of pre-collapse or instability. These cracks may indicate that a hellish period lies ahead. However, by cultivating awareness and mental preparedness in advance, individuals can develop the capacity to navigate and respond to these challenges.
