Who falls for psychic scams?
From a spiritual perspective, there are tendencies in people who are susceptible to being deceived by psychic or spiritual scams.
Regarding psychic scams, many people probably believe that they themselves would never be deceived.
To take it to an extreme, ceremonies for deceased people, visits to shrines or temples, and offering money during memorial services could also be considered a form of psychic scam.
Even more extremely, one could argue that celebrating Christmas can be seen in a similar light.
When considering psychic scams, it is necessary to distinguish between those who intentionally deceive others and those who act with pure intentions.
Although not strictly a psychic scam, there is a historical example of a merchant known as Sukezaemon, who sold a rare pot from overseas for spitting into to Toyotomi Hideyoshi at a high price, claiming it was a valuable item.
In this case, Toyotomi Hideyoshi would be considered the deceived party. What are your thoughts on this story?
Regarding the growth of the soul, as I have discussed many times on this blog, the growth of knowledge is composed of individual realizations, and similarly, the growth of spiritual rank (reikaku), which is the growth of the heart, is made up of one realization at a time.
When one’s spiritual rank increases, their existential power in a mental sense grows, their creative ability to fulfill the hearts of others rises, and the more realizations they have, the broader their perspective becomes. This is not a complicated topic—it is simply the process of maturing mentally and spiritually.
Conversely, a low spiritual rank indicates weak existential power in a mental sense. Such people tend to prioritize their own heart’s satisfaction over fulfilling the hearts of others, and with fewer realizations, their perspective is narrower. This is also not a difficult concept—it simply reflects a spiritual immaturity.
In other words, those who deceive others through psychic scams are people of low spiritual rank, and those who are deceived by psychic scams are also of low spiritual rank.
A characteristic of spiritual rank is that individuals of low spiritual rank find it difficult to grasp the values of those with high spiritual rank due to fewer realizations, whereas those with high spiritual rank see individuals of low spiritual rank as mentally immature.
This may be one way of understanding it.
Generally, living a normal life can naturally help increase one’s spiritual rank.
Observing people who are deceived by psychic scams, one may notice that those who are spiritually immature are more likely to be deceived, and some people, driven by a desire to protect the vulnerable, may voice strong criticism against psychic scams.
This tendency is especially noticeable in practical-minded individuals, such as lawyers.
Japanese education tends to place value solely on individual knowledge realizations, and the spiritual growth of the heart—realizations of the soul—is weaker. As a result, people of low spiritual rank appear more frequently in society.
Due to the diversity of values, conventional societal norms are increasingly fragmented, and psychic scams themselves may also appear as one expression of this diversity.
Spiritually, it is said that the overall energy of the Earth is gradually shifting from male-dominant energy to female-dominant energy.
This is not a sudden black-and-white switch but a gradual change, like the relationship between the sun and the moon, and it influences the entire Earth, regardless of gender.
Female-dominant energy is still in its early stages. The youthful energy of women, characterized by opposing emotions such as joy, anger, sadness, and pleasure, tends to manifest in society as polarization, contradictions, and frequent policy changes.
Men tend to suppress and control their emotional energy, making their mind and body more rigid, whereas women tend to release and control their emotional energy, making their mind and body more flexible.
Changes occur more easily in flexible forms than in rigid ones, and this era marks the beginning of a time of rapid change under female-dominant energy.
Male-dominant energy tends to value tangible, visible things, whereas female-dominant energy tends to value the intangible heart and mind.
While this is not an absolute rule, people who are deceived by psychic scams are likely those influenced by male-dominant energy, who place value on tangible, visible things.
